Hartford Latino Fest Provides a Multi-Cultural Celebration
The Hartford Latino Fest enables the community to experience traditional and contemporary Latin American culture through dance, music, culture, art, authentic cuisine, local businesses, networking, and service providers. The unique annual event brings together multi-cultural families, businesses, and organizations to a variety of activities throughout the region.The 6th Annual Hartford Latino Fest will take place Saturday, September 19 from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Pratt Street in downtown Hartford. The event is free and open to the public.Hartford Latino Fest Director Victor Luna told the Hartford Chamber of Commerce what he most enjoys about being a part of Hartford.Why did you join the Hartford Chamber of Commerce?VICTOR LUNA: I joined the Hartford Chamber of Commerce because it gives me the opportunity to network with other companies, explore new opportunities, and grow my business while servicing the community.Why Hartford? How did you decide on the location for your business?VICTOR: I am a long-time Hartford resident and I wouldn’t have my business in any other city.Tell us about the neighborhood and what makes it unique.VICTOR: My neighborhood is a multi-cultural community. We appreciate each other and we embrace ourselves in the culture of our neighbors.What is the best thing about Hartford?VICTOR: I love the many opportunities to grow a business in Hartford. My grandchildren love their schools and that’s important to me. I love working with the residents in the City of Hartford. I believe our strengths lie in our diversity. Hartford is a city with more than 60 different dialects and just as many cultures and languages.
