Grants Available for Minority Small Businesses

International Hartford, a non-profit which supports immigrant and minority-owned small businesses, announced the third round of microgrants to boost business growth.  These are grants of up to $10,000, and don’t need to be repaid.  Businesses must be registered for at least a year;  if operational, must show break-even or profitability.

Grants, which are limited to minority-owned enterprises in the metro Hartford area, must be used for long-term capital needs like space buildout, equipment or mass production.  Decisions will be made in early spring.

Applications are on-line at INTERHARTFORD.ORG/MICROGRANT PROGRAMIf you want to ask questions before you apply, you may contact International Hartford business navigator Erwin Hurst at erwin@interhartford.org. or 860-490-4557.

Funding for these grants is provided by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the Fisher Fund and the Farmington Bank Foundation.
