Hartford Photographer Values the City’s Community and Diversity
Connecticut- and NYC-based photographer Zack Rubin of Zack Rubin Photography specializes in personal and professional branding photography. Zach shares what he most enjoys about Hartford and the value he receives from the Hartford Chamber of Commerce. Why did you join the Hartford Chamber of Commerce?ZACK RUBIN: I joined the Hartford Chamber of Commerce because I value a strong, professional network as the most powerful tool any person could have in life. I find that a business attached to a community creates a synergistic effect where other businesses work the strengths of others to boost each other up. I am a firm believer in community over competition! Why Hartford? How did you decide on the location for your business?ZACK: I moved to Hartford about two years ago after leaving Southeastern Connecticut in search of a new environment full of culture and opportunity. Hartford seemed like a beautiful area ripe with opportunity to develop my business into a strong career.Tell us about the neighborhood and what makes it unique.ZACK: I live in the West End and I find it to be a rather beautiful microcosm of such a diverse city. I greatly appreciate the sense of supportive community in my neighborhood from mini food pantries and mini free libraries on people’s front lawns to small marching bands entertaining in the streets to a group of locals sharing plants with each other. What is the best thing about living and working in Hartford?ZACK: The best thing about living and working here is, frankly, the food. I likely eat Tangiers International Market on a weekly basis or grab some Vietnamese food at Banh Mee. I also appreciate the vast range of diverse citizens of Hartford who remind me how beautiful America can truly be. As a portrait photographer, the diversity of Hartford is what keeps me here.Learn more about Zack Rubin Photographyzrubinphoto.myportfolio.com | Facebook | Instagram
