Fresh Start employs and trains individuals seeking to improve their lives with a future in building high-quality custom products and, in partnership with community organizations, provides education and training through the Richard P. Garmany Fresh Start Academy.

Why Hartford? How did you decide on the location for your business?
Our non-profit is located in the heart of Hartford and so are many of the folks we support.
Tell us about the neighborhood and what makes it unique.
We are located on Sargeant St. in the Veeder Place Building in the Asylum Hill neighborhood. The neighborhood is unique because we have a variety of businesses, mixed use and homes around us helping Fresh Start meet with local business owners and residents.
What is the best thing about living/working in Hartford?
The diversity inside to community with culture, food, music all being celebrated.
