The Institute of Management Accountants Joins the Hartford Chamber!

The Institute of Management Accountants “IMA®” Hartford Chapter, is a highly engaged organization of ~180 accountants and financial professionals in business across various career stages serving Connecticut and Western Massachusetts since 1922. Our chapter offers a variety of professional educational programs, plant tours, networking and leadership opportunities, scholarship opportunities, and promotes the Certified Management Accountant " CMA® ", Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis " CSCA® " certification, and the Financial and Managerial Accounting Associate FMAA™.

Why did you join the Hartford Chamber of Commerce – what’s the value?
The IMA® Hartford Chapter is excited to join the Hartford Chamber of commerce for a variety of reasons ranging from educational and professional development to networking opportunities as well as the opportunity to collaborate on events and key initiatives. We are a diverse group of professionals eager to expand our network and learn and grow from each other. We believe the partnership with the Hartford Chamber of Commerce will provide further opportunities for learning and growth across both groups.

Why Hartford? How did you decide on the location for your business?
Hartford’s status as a financial and business hub with the insurance industry being one strong example, its strategic location providing easy access to major cities in the northeast, and its strong professional community make it an ideal base for the IMA® Hartford Chapter offering many opportunities for networking, growth, and collaboration within the accounting and financial industries which are just a few of the reasons why the chapter has been active since 1922.

The strong sense of community, historical heritage, vibrant cultural and economic landscape make it a unique neighborhood.

What is the best thing about living/working in Hartford?
It is hard to narrow it down to just one thing. Our members love living/working here for the exquisite food, diverse businesses, outdoor parks, shopping, and museums.
