Unleash Your Inner Artist at Parkville Art Gallery and Studio

Registration now open for adult painting classes with Antony Zito

[HARTFORD, CT, April 22] - Parkville Art Studio announces a new on-going series of art classes with portrait and mural painter, and Associate Gallery Director, Antony Zito. Artists and art lovers of all levels, ages 18 and up, are invited to dive into a world of creative instruction, receive personalized feedback, and work on inspiring projects that will help build artistic skills. Classes begin on April 28 and will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30pm-8:30pm in the Gallery’s Studio at 1429 Park Street, Suite 202A, Hartford, CT.

An experienced arts instructor and private tutor, Zito has decades of experience in teaching art - primarily drawing and painting. While he is most valued for his ability to teach rendering of reality from photos and live models, Zito works with all aspects of art-making. His art and instruction have taken him around North America - and even across the globe - furthering his insight and expanding his influences. Most recently, Zito has taught at West Hartford Art League, Art League of New Britain, and the New Britain Museum of American Art.

“I have been taking classes from Antony for 3 years now. He is a great teacher and his personality makes the class a lot of fun,” says a current student, Harriet. She continues, “he respects each student’s individual style.”

Roxanne Stachelek, Director of West Hartford Art League, comments: "Antony has been a great addition to our staff here at the West Hartford Art League. He is an artist who not only knows how to paint, but he knows how to teach. I have heard from students taking his class that they finally got ‘it’ and feel that Antony opened up a whole new way of seeing and painting for them."

Portrait painting, collage, still life, abstraction, landscape work, and painting from pure imagination are all options with which Zito will offer guidance and improvement. Although the primary focus of his classes will be on honing skills, students can also expect an intensive focus on composition, color theory and conceptual symbolism.

Registered students are responsible for bringing their own canvas, paints (preferably acrylic/water-based), palette, water cup, rag and brushes. Easels and tables will be provided by the Studio. One 3-hour class is priced at $40/student, or bundle and save 12% with 8 class packs for $280. Questions or inquiries may be sent to antony@parkvilleartgallery.com.
