Power of Choices Joins the Hartford Chamber

Describe your business in one to two sentences.

Power of Choices (POC) is a behavioral health practice that provides mental health counseling services including individual, family, and group therapy to the community of Hartford and surrounding towns. POC focuses on providing clinical services to address the inadequate services provided to the minority community due to a lack of minority provider representation, misunderstanding of cultural differences, the stigma of mental health, and other factors that play a huge role in the success of a minority in our society. At POC, clinicians work with clients to build and sustain growth in every aspect of their lives!

Why did you join the Hartford Chamber of Commerce – what’s the value?

POC is a Hartford-based small business so it was only right to connect with other local businesses in the area. Also a way to get access to resources that will help maintain and expand the business.

Why Hartford? How did you decide on the location for your business?

I'm a Bloomfield native who wanted to give back to my community and provide a necessary service. The location of the practice is perfect!

Tell us about the neighborhood and what makes it unique.

POC is located across from Hartford High School. We are located in an area that provides access to everyone we serve!

What is the best thing about living and working in Hartford?

We are serving the very community we grew up in!
